Letter from the Superintendent - Sept 23, 2021
Posted on 09/23/2021

Dear Chester Academy Community,

I am sending this message to inform you that a 3rd grade student has tested positive for COVID-19.  After consultation with the NH Division of Public Health Services, it has been determined that, while we cannot identify individual close contacts, there may be some risk of exposure in the specific class, at lunch/recess, or on the school bus. Principal Lacroix is sending a separate message to each of these groups so they can closely monitor their children.

The community transmission level for COVID-19 in Chester remains at the Substantial level so we continue to ask for your help to prevent COVID-19 from impacting our school community. COVID-19 is most commonly spread through respiratory droplets when an infected person talks, coughs, sneezes or sings.  Please do not send your child to school if they have any new or unexplained symptoms of COVID-19 this includes even mild symptoms or if someone in their household has been diagnosed with COVID-19 in the prior 14 days. Please report any symptoms or exposure to the school nurse.

Thank you again for your partnership in keeping our students safe, healthy, and in-person this school year.

Sincerely,

Sharon Locke, EdD

Superintendent of Schools
