First I would like to welcome everyone back to school, you have all been missed!
Like everything else, the school lunch program has been modified for the upcoming 2020/2021 school year. One of the biggest changes is that students will be eating in their classrooms. Although this is a major adjustment for everyone, the plan we have put in place ensures that students are still able to receive hot, nutritious meals daily in a safe and healthy environment.
Breakfast will be offered as students arrive to school. There will be 2 grab-n-go options available each day and will be posted on the monthly menu. All meals will include 1 cup of fruit, whole grain item and a milk. No individual items will be offered during breakfast. Breakfast carts will be stationed at both entryways where students will pick-up on their way to the classroom.
For students that will be purchasing lunch at school, orders will be taken by their teachers first thing in the morning. Like breakfast, there will be 2 options: a “hot meal” or “cold meal”. Unfortunately, at this time we will not be offering salads or sandwiches. The hot meal option will be posted on the monthly menu and will be prepackaged with all components listed. The alternative cold meal will be the Bagel Bag: bagel with cream cheese, yogurt & cheese stick, baby carrots or other raw veggie, fruit and milk. It is our hope that other meals options can be offered as the school year progresses. No snacks or beverage sales will be allowed at this time.
Students that would like to purchase a milk only can do so during lunch and breakfast. Water will also be available to students during meal times. Disposable cups have been set up by the bottle filling water fountains. Complete meals will be delivered to the classroom for lunch or picked up for breakfast and verified by student’s name.
Breakfast and lunch will also be offered to students that are learning remotely with the same options listed above. Orders will need to be entered daily by 9:00am and pick-up time is daily from 12:30-1:00pm. A picture ID may be requested at this time. To order, please see

Chester Academy participates in the National School Lunch Program (NSLP) and offers free or reduced meals to students that qualify. This is a confidential program and your information will not be shared with anyone. It is our pleasure to serve the students and staff of Chester Academy. We are here to feed the children and understand that things may come up: did not like the meal, forgot to order, or did not bring lunch from home. No worries, we got it covered! No student will be refused a meal and will do our best to accommodate whenever possible.
