Chester Academy students had a great time with their performance of Dear Edwina Junior last weekend 🎭

Heres what our music teachers had to say:

"We were so happy to finally be back on stage and in front of a live audience! Twenty-one students came to audition for the show, and we were fortunate enough to be able to fit every actor who auditioned into just the right role(s).

About a week before vacation, everything was starting to come together. Actors had lines and songs memorized and were working on harmonies and character development. Then we got word – no masks, no distancing! This cast was so incredibly flexible as we changed their blocking and choreography and added little extra character interactions. Despite illnesses, schedule changes, and last-minute prop additions, these actors have handled themselves like pros. We are so proud of them, and we were so excited for the audience to see what they put together.

We would also like to acknowledge the support and encouragement of all the actors' families. Thank you for baking brownies, loaning us your stuff to use as props, hemming costumes, and quickly putting together concessions when we realized they could be a thing! This performance was so much richer for your involvement, and we thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

Edwina sings, 'Don't think about prizes, just do what you love.' Thank you for supporting us every year as we do what we love. We hope you enjoyed the show."

Everyone involved did an amazing job! We can't wait to see what you come up with next year 🎶
